Liam McAuliff

Account Director, Climate Strategy

Liam joins ASC with nearly a decade of experience in clean energy and climate advocacy. He is driven by an urgent enthusiasm for the energy transition and developing strategies to help others feel the same. His background in research, strategic messaging, and stakeholder engagement has allowed him the opportunity to engage in energy policy across the globe.

Liam’s notable experiences include:

  • Promoting smart, actionable and evidence-based energy and climate solutions Center on Global Energy Policy during the first weeks of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine when clear and factual information about energy geopolitics was needed most.

  • Supporting the execution of the first ever Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF), a three-day multilateral cooperation convening energy ministers and global leaders, as a fellow in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Multilateral Climate and Clean Energy Engagement in the Office of International Affairs.

  • Speaking on behalf of the United States at the Clean Energy Ministirial’s Senior Officials Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on subjects ranging from clean hydrogen deployment to solar supply chains.

  • Strategizing with staff across the country to develop specialized federal, state and local public actions to promote America’s Most Endangered Rivers of 2021.

Liam received his BA from Hamilton College in Environmental Policy and MA in Climate Science and Policy as a member of the inaugural class of The Columbia Climate School. He’s a proud New Yorker who has lived and worked all over the state, and he’s eager to help restructure the region’s relationship with energy systems. When he’s not working, he spends his time reading about history, cooking and vying for the attention of his partner’s rescue dog, Stella.

There is nothing I find more critical and exciting than the stakes, scope and urgency of the energy transition. At ASC, I have the opportunity to work alongside the communities and individuals as they engage with the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment."
