Nora’s Note

To the polls. With the general election this coming Tuesday, millions of Americans have already voted or are making plans to head to their local election site. The 2020 presidential election had the highest turnout amongst eligible voters in American history, yet the US still lags behind many world democracies in voter turnout. Voting is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways to shape our communities, both through the candidates we elect to represent us and through our direct vote on propositions and protections to be added to our state and local laws. When we vote, we’re not just ticking a box—we’re raising our voices on the issues that affect our daily lives, from schools and roads to public safety and health services. Casting a ballot is a simple yet powerful way to impact our changing world.
