Nora's Note

Building a network for the clean energy future. The Business Network for Offshore Wind held its 2023 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum this week in Baltimore, Maryland. Production for offshore wind energy is scaling up from coast to coast as governments, energy developers, small businesses and communities work to harness the power of offshore wind to bring clean energy and jobs to the US. New York state continues to lead on its commitment to combat climate change through renewable energy production and environmental justice initiatives. As the US continues to build its supply chain for offshore wind, interstate and international partnerships will be key to building capacity and ensuring an equitable transition to renewables.

States test an electrifying idea: roads that can recharge your electric vehicle. Detroit is piloting a system to recharge electric vehicles as they are being driven on public roadways. Through inductive charging, Michigan’s Department of Transportation is embedding two roadways with a wireless system to extend the range of electric public transit, private and commercial vehicles and speed the transition to net zero. Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Utah and other states are also exploring this new technology. Read more on the race to more efficient EV charging. (Source: News From The States)
