Public Engagement Strategy Drives Infrastructure Forward

Ensure community members meaningfully connect with the replacement of the Tappan Zee Bridge at every step of the process.

The Solution.

Public engagement, media relations and marketing strategies supported the region’s major infrastructure update from environmental review through the opening of a Shared-Use Path that made the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge accessible to cyclists and pedestrians for the first time in history. 

Tactics included: 

  • Everyone Has a Voice public outreach program to connect community members with the environmental review process 

  • Event planning for three opening ceremonies 

  • Media relations strategies that secured placement in top-tier publications 

  • Copywriting and image research for Shared-Use Path displays, website and educational materials
